Poker is typically played with 2 to 9 or 10 players at a single table using a standard deck of 52 cards. Each hand progresses through distinct betting stages until the winning hand is revealed at showdown or all other opponents fold.
Each player receives 2 private hole cards. Players post Small & Big Blinds. The first round of betting begins starting left of the Big Blind.
The dealer burns one card and deals the first 3 community cards face up on the felt. A new betting round commences.
A 4th community card is dealt face up. Players analyze potential flushes, straights, and sets. Third round of betting occurs.
The 5th and final board card is revealed. The final betting round takes place followed by Showdown where the highest hand wins the pot.
